Kids Giving Back
The Ford Drills & Skills program recognizes youth hockey teams who have shown true team work by contributing to their communities. Minor hockey teams (boys and girls, ages 7-12) have a chance to participate on an exclusive event at Rexall Place to “train like a pro”. Winning teams will work with professional trainers, coaches and nutritionists, tour the venue (including the locker rooms) and receive Oilers merchandise.
A contending team, the Strathcona County Winter Hawks atom team collected food for the Edmonton Food Bank as part of their giving back. The team and parents went to the Food Bank to assemble food boxes and were surprised and thrilled when they were joined by two Edmonton Oilers who worked alongside the kids.
